RINGKASAN HASIL PENELITIAN MENUJU MASYARAKAT PASCASEKULER: MULTIKULTURALISME DAN MINORITAS MUSLIM DI JERMAN

Abstract

Artikel ini mengkaji perubahan dalam masyarakat kontemporer Jerman terkait berbagai isu agama dan kewarganegaraan yang menjadi penting sejak kedatangan para imigran, terutama migran muslim ke Eropa. Pusat perdebatan terletak pada penelaahan terhadap konsepsi sekularisme yang telah dilakukan oleh negara-negara Eropa Barat dalam mengatur hubungan antara agama sebagai bagian dari ruang pribadi dan kewarganegaraan sebagai bagian dari ruang publik. Lebih khusus, tulisan ini berfokus pada bagaimana multikulturalisme berjalan dan posisi minoritas muslim di Jerman yang sekuler. Secara teoritis, titik awal tulisan ini berasal dari argumen Jurgen Habermas tentang masyarakat pascasekuler, “the continued existence of religious communities in a continually secularizing environment”. Meskipun prinsip sekuler yang diadopsi oleh Jerman menganggap agama sebagai kesadaran pribadi, namun Islam secara bertahap jelas nyata hadir di Jerman.
